FTP or File Transfer Protocol is important in web hosting. It allows files from a hard drive, to be transferred to a web server then eventually, to the internet. If you own a web host account, chances are you also have an FTP account. This is more secure because it is impossible to hack and is only accessible thru a web hosting control panel. Plesk, a web hosting control panel has an FTP account feature and you can change your FTP password by using your Plesk account.

1. Login to your Plesk account. The Plesk homepage will be shown.

2. Scroll down to change your FTP password in Plesk.

3. Click the Setup icon.

4. Scroll down to go the Account Preferences section.

5. Enter a new password in the box beside New FTP password.

6. Re-enter the password for confirmation of the new password.

7. Scroll down to go to the Save section.

8. Click OK when you’re done.

9. The FTP password has been successfully changed. For security reasons, it is recommended that you change your password often.
