Subdomain creeëren in Plesk voor herverkopers

A domain is an essential element especially within the web hosting business industry. These domain names identify IP or Internet Protocol resources such as websites and allow users to have administrative rights over a certain website.
A subdomain is simply another way to browse to a sub-directory (or folder) in your hosting account, but also can have its own unique FTP login information. With a subdomain, instead of browsing to www.yourdomain.com/members, you can browse to members.yourdomain.com.

One feature of the Plesk control panel software is allowing users or resellers to create their own subdomain in the Plesk accounts. The following is a step-by-step guide on how to do so:

1. Begin by logging into your Plesk account.

2. Scroll down the page.

3. Click on the domain for which you want to create a subdomain.

4. Then click the “Subdomains” icon.

5. Once in the “Subdomains” field, click the “Add New Subdomain” icon.

6. Enter the prefix of the subdomain you want to create in the “Subdomain” text field.

If you wanted to, you could also assign separate FTP login information in the option below “Account Preferences,” if someone else was going to be responsible for updating the “members” subdomain for example.

7. Scroll down.

8. You may now select the services you want to be made available to the new subdomain. The available choices are:

     a. Apache ASP support
     b. SSI support
     c. PHP support
     d. CGI support
     e. mod_perl support
     f. mod_python support
     g. ColdFusion support (which is currently not installed)

Start by selecting the “SSI support.”

9. Then select the “PHP support.”

10. Also select the “CGI support.”

11. Click the “OK” button when you are finished.

12. That’s it! The new “members” subdomain has been created. This time, delete the subdomain that you have just created by scrolling down.

13. Click the checkbox next to the name of the subdomain.

14. Click the “Remove Selected” link.

15. You must “confirm” the removal since this is a permanent action.

16. Click the “OK” button when done.

17. The “members” subdomain has now been removed. Click the “Home” link to return to the main page.

18. You now know how to create a subdomain in your hosting account and in your customer’s hosting accounts as well.
